Myco4Food is a newly founded company with the aim of developing solid-state
fermentation technology for upcycling of side streams from the food and
agricultural industry and to explore novel sustainable approaches to produce the
proteins of the future. Our technology will reduce carbon emissions from the food
sector by better utilization of existing resources and provide price-competitive
sustainably produced protein ingredients for the food industry.
We are seeking a motivated specialist to join our team. As a scale up specialist, you
will play a central role in designing, building and optimizing our solid-state
fermentation bioreactor at pilot scale and large scale. The ideal candidate will have
a passion for development of disruptive technology and a growth mindset for early
start-up working culture. sustainability and the drive to work on disruptive
technology in the renewable energy industry.
Responsibilities:
* Lead projects for scale up of solid state fermentation bioreactor
* Create and modify detailed 3D CAD models, 2D drawings and
schematics using CAD software
* Design, build, and optimize the solid state bioreactor system at
pilot scale and large scale. create and maintain design
specifications
* Review design routinely and perform verification and compatibility
testing
* Support process development at different scales and conduct
process scale up experiments from pilot scale to large scale.
* Continuously improve the scale up capability
* Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical
engineer, microbiologist, project manager and external engineering
consultants, to enable decisions in a timely manner
* Scout emerging technologies to identify novel development
opportunities.
Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s / Master degree in mechanical engineering
• Previous work experience in mechanical design, preferably in
bioreactor development for microbial fermentation
• Proven track-record of process scaling up
• Proficient in CAD software
• Knowledge of solid-state fermentation, heat transfer and fluid
mechanics is an advantage.
• Ability to work efficiently in an agile environment.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.
